| Although she is the youngest member of Gypsy Child, Nici’s professional career started VERY EARLY. She began to play drums professionally at any type of song, as well as exhibiting a great stage presence. Nici has played also spent a considerable amount of time in Nashville. When she periods of time, continuing to hone her skills in all genres of popular music. Nici has various recording credits, most notably a CD for CMH Records (the only traditional bluegrass label in the United States). She recorded with Wynn Osborne of the Osborne Brothers on the CD entitled “Pickin’ On The 50’s.” Other recording credits include various sessions at The Soundstage Studio in Nashville. Nici provides the solid foundation and “drive” for Gypsy Child and she shares in the common goal of the band, which is, “Entertainment at its Finest.” JoAnnA Hudson: Keyboards, Flute, Lead/Backing Vocals If you’ve been in the Central Florida area for any significant length of time, you most likely have caught JoAnnA Hudson performing somewhere in the area. JoAnnA embarked on her professional music career in 1979, touring Florida and South Georgia’s “A” Circuit in several bands. She formed Gypsy Child in 1983, and the band continued to perform in Florida until 1993. Throughout the 1990’s, JoAnnA jumped the fence for a while and played in several Southern Rock and Variety house bands, this is where she met and began to perform with drummer Nici Haerter. As the bandleader, JoAnnA has always strived for one common goal where this band is concerned: “Let’s keep it simple, fun, entertaining and crowd- pleasing!” Gail Force: Gail Delagi and Tina Gordon The duo tailors its set lists to each audience, whether it is families, bikers, or tourists. It is not unusual for Gail and Tina to learn a new cover tune that was requested by a fan. People are often surprised to hear them perform the song not long after the request was made. Gailforce has opened for nationally known musicians and performed for audiences of up to 20,000. Tina, a flautist and guitarist with a degree in education, writes most of the originals for the duo. She has also written radio jingles. Gail is also a talented songwriter and guitarist. Gail's solid rhythm guitar and expressive style is the backbone of their acoustic sound. Gail and Tina recorded one of their originals (Catch Me a Rainbow) in early 2003 while attending a music conference in Nashville. Tina's dynamic voice has also brought her in demand to sing the National Anthem a cappella at various venues, including the Daytona International Speedway, the Jacksonville Jaguars, All-Pro Rodeo and the Daytona Cubs. Their unique sound of tight harmony and beautiful combination of flute and acoustic guitars has stood the test of time - and is still delighting fans and newcomers. Julie Baker; Base Guitar.. My 'bio': I started playing in New England in the 1970's, mostly in Top 40 Rock bands and occasionally Country. I was mostly Lead Vocal and Bass plus harmonies on everything else. At this point in time all of my work was thru an agent. In the middle 80's moved to Florida and played with several 3 and 4 piece groups doing a lot of club work, hotels, special events (bike week). Most of this work was Southern Rock and Country. After this I teamed up with a male solo artist and started a duo in which we performed mainly Standards, Jazz and Big Band numbers, mostly on cruises and private upscale clubs. Within the past 10 years I've filled in on Bass with a local big band group called the Moonlighters. From the mid 90's thru now I do a solo as a vocalist using keyboard and midi, performing music from the 40's thru the 80's. In this venue I do Standards, Jazz, Country, Southern Rock and 60's, 70's and 80's Rock. I still do occasional fill-ins on Bass with several different local groups as my schedule permits. In 2002 I did a solo CD (Julie Baker) and in 2004 a CD with my then group called Baker Act, titled "Still Crazy After All These Blues". |
